Rod is a phenomenal coach who cares wholeheartedly about his clients. He is dedicated to ensuring that I reach my goals pushing me further than I ever imagined I could go. I first started working with Rod as part of a live healthy program at work. My primary goal at that time was just to simply lose weight in preparation for a vacation. Well, Rod quickly made it clear that he was more concerned with my overall health and wellness. He tried to tell me over and over to stop focusing on the scale and focus on my health, but I, like so many other women want to lose weight control. Over the months we discussed proper nutrition, the risks associated with being inactive and overweight and the general need to take control of my health and fitness. If you ask me today why I continue to exercise, it won't be because of weight loss, it will be because I want to truly live a totally healthy lifestyle. Rod has helped me to reprioritize my health and fitness goals from the inside out instead of the other way around.
Rod Sims came to our office to discuss the topic of fitness but I soon learned my fitness involves more than just jogging and lifting weights on machines. I learned that fitness involves not only jogging and lifting weights, but also includes mental well-being, spiritual well-being, and nutritional well-being. I started my Wellness Journey after Rod sat down with me and had a one-on-one consultation to discuss my goals. Now, I've had many consultations with ‘trainers' before usually at public gyms that had many trainers with different backgrounds. Historically I had declined to use the services of a personal trainer due to the lack of experience or broad range of knowledge but what set Rod apart from ‘trainers' was his role as a Wellness Coach. It wasn't until my consultation with Rod that I understood the difference. Due to my history with trainers I had my doubts but Rod blew me away! First we sat down and discussed my physical history and what my goals were. What amazed me were the questions about my longterm goals, how have you been these goals will make me feel not only physically, but mentally, in the workplace, how I slept at night, my mood, mental clarity, and more. These items have NEVER been discussed with me by any other trainer in the past so this definitely set Rod apart! He truly talks the talk and walks the walk. Trust me, I've tested this many times and every time Rod has exceeded my expectations!!
Rod is very knowledgeable when it comes to health and wellness, but the thing that stood out most is that he really cared about me becoming better not only physically but mentally.
